Major String Test Underway
Sulzer Pumps are currently string testing 2 gas turbine driven HPcp injection pumps destined for the Shell Bonga FPSO platform in Nigeria. The pumps each generate over 2,000m head at a flow rate of nearly 1000m3/h.
Each pump is driven by a Solar gas turbine generating over 11Mw. The full skid including the turbine, gearbox, pump and all other associated equipment has been assembled in the specialist test facility at the pump divisions UK factory located in Leeds. Sulzer Pumps are unique in their ability to conduct such tests being the only pump manufacturer in the world with this capability in-house. In addition to the main injection pumps, 20 other pumps are being supplied to the platform.
