Sewage and Waste Collection at POLLUTEC 2001

16.11.2001

As of 28th September, over 2 months before it opens to the public, Pollutec has already signed up 1,566 exhibitors (compared with 1,425 in 1999, at the equivalent point prior to the show), including 474 foreign ones. Furthermore, nearly 12,000 visitors had applied for their show entry badges by the same date, which represents a 6% advance over the last time Pollutec was held in Paris.

THEMED SPACES

The Hydrogen Village

This new village, which is being organized by AFH2 (the French Hydrogen Association), will provide the stage for the first public presentations of several industrial prototypes. Besides the SCANIA hydrogen powered bus (Air Liquide) and the VELAPAC vehicle (CNIM), there will be the 3rd stage engine of the Ariane rocket, fitted with hydrogen valve plates (SNECMA) and the Hydro-Gen vehicle, developed as part of a European research programme led by PSA. This vehicle (a standard electric Peugeot Partner) was fitted with a PEM fuel cell (proton exchange membrane cell, which uses extremely pure hydrogen) with a power output of 30 KW (it will be the subject of a conference on Wednesday 5th December at 10.30 a.m., as part of the show's Energy Forum).

The village will also feature a full size mock up of the "Polar Observer". Fitted with a fuel cell, this new observation vessel will be used by the explorer Jean-Louis Etienne for his next "Polar Mission" (from April to August 2002).

A "Sewage and waste collection" space

Following the initial success at Lyon last year, the members of the FNSA (National Federation of Sewage and Industrial Maintenance Associations) and SYFFA (National Association of Manufacturers and Suppliers of Sewage Equipment), one of its member associations, have once again decided to mount a joint presence at the show this year. Nearly twenty companies will be showing water cleansers, waste tanks, high pressure pumps, accessories … as well as their expertise in the collection of waste (especially dangerous waste), sewage and industrial maintenance.
