Japanese design award for SQ

12.01.2001

Grundfos' SQ submersible pump has received the Good Design Award 2000, a Japanese award given for excellent design pointing towards the future. Design in this connection is not merely external beauty - there are also fundamental demands for the functionality of the product: as well as high quality and security, the product must add to the quality of life.

In Japan pumps for water supply are sold in the same way as kitchen hardware. The award will be particularly important for Grundfos' promotion of the SQ pump as it includes the right to display its good design through the use of the "G mark" which 70% of the Japanese consumers know and use when they are shopping.
