Fairbanks Morse Presents New Product/Service at WEFTEC 2000

03.11.2000

KANSAS CITY, KANSAS, October 31, 2000 - During the recent WEFTEC 2000 trade show in Anaheim, Fairbanks Morse presented a new alternative in submersible pumps - the submersible vortex - currently available in cast iron construction. This unique design is capable of handling heavier concentrations of stringy, fibrous material, which are not suitable for conventional solids-handling pumps.

This new impeller/volute combination utilizes a cupped, vortex design fully recessed from the main volute and capable of handling discharge size solids. This cupped vortex design deflects pumped media away from the volute into the flow stream, and makes the design ideal for low to medium shear applications.

Additionally, an exciting new service was introduced at WEFTEC 2000, the Fairbanks Morse Pump Monitoring System. Versatile data acquisition can include readings for flow, pressure, vibration, speed, motor current, and temperature, while the remote pump monitoring offers up to 20 data channels over a cellular link up.

This system is available for purchase or lease, and features data logging as well as alarm capabilities. The third facet of this system is condition reporting. Acquired data is downloaded at the Fairbanks Morse plant, reviewed by pump design engineers, and customized reports and trend data is submitted to the customer via email.

As always, the quality of our products, dependability and innovation are all part of the Fairbanks Morse commitment to excellence. For more information, contact your nearest Fairbanks Morse distributor, or the factory at 913/371-5000.
