Colfax Corporation announced Australian shipbuilding company ASC has ordered $1.2 million in pumping technology on behalf of the Air Warfare Destroyer Alliance for building three new air-warfare destroyers for the Royal Australian Navy.
The order is primarily for three-screw rotary positive displacement pumps, which will be used for handling fluids such as fuel, lubricating oil and bilge water.
“We’re pleased to have been selected to supply fluid-handling technology for Australia’s latest destroyers,” said Clay Kiefaber, president and CEO of Colfax. “We have more than 70 years of experience serving navies around the world and understand the need for defense vessels to perform anywhere, anytime, under the harshest possible conditions.”
The order will be fulfilled through Colfax’s in-country navy agent, Australian Pump Industries Pty. Limited, which will work with the shipyard during installation and after the ships launch to provide spare parts, overhauls and maintenance.
