In Septemper 2006, Frankenthal, Germany-based KSB Aktiengesellschaft will be launching a new submersible borehole pump type which meets even the stringent demands of ACS, the French drinking water regulations. The UPA 150C is designed to be used in water supply, irrigation, lowering of ground water levels, pressure boosting and fire protection. Its impellers are laser-welded for greater ruggedness and stability than conventional spot-welded impellers from other manufacturers. The hydraulically favourable design enables the pump sets to achieve above average efficiencies, resulting in low running costs over the entire service life of the pump. Other benefits are the sturdy drive lantern and the check valve made of investment cast stainless steel as well as a reinforced suction strainer.
