A bulletin that describes the new McDonnell & Miller self-cleaning probe for low water cut-offs is now available. The new low water cut-off probe uses a cleaning device - that due to water flow - oscillates around the probe, combating lime build-up and extending probe maintenance to five years. The bulletin (MM-280) describes how minerals such as calcium tend to cling to the metal parts of the probe rather quickly when heated and how this can lead to excessive lime build-up and as a result, annoying boiler shutdowns, water overfill, and expensive maintenance repairs. |
