Self-Priming Centrifugal Pumps Deliver High Heads

There are certain liquid transfer applications, such as irrigation and industrial refuelling, which require a pump to provide the important combination of delivering high heads and to be self-priming. However, many self-priming pumps...

... have an open impeller-construction and this limits the available pressure from the pump.

Alpha ORA-C series pumps, available through liquids handling specialists PUMP ENGINEERING, are designed to provide a low-cost, reliable solution to this problem. A modified housing and closed impeller means that these pumps retain the characteristics of the self-priming centrifugal pump, with the ability to deliver high heads up to 100m (10 bar g).

The Alpha range of centrifugal pumps are available as end suction or multi-stage and are supplied in sizes from 1½” - 4” . In addition to their ability of providing high heads, they are capable of delivering flow rates up to 3000 litres / minute.

These robust pumps are available in cast iron, with cast iron or bronze impellers, stainless steel shaft and a wide range of mechanical seals. They can be supplied as bareshaft or motor-driven units with special versions available depending on specific application requirements.
