Sulzer Chemtech acquires selected assets of Koch-Glitsch mixer business

On March 31, 2003, Sulzer Chemtech acquired selected assets of the mixer business of Koch-Glitsch with locations in Wichita (Kansas, USA) and Winterthur (Switzerland). In 2002, this business had sales of USD 9.6 million.

The mixer business of Koch-Glitsch provides static mixers to the oil and gas, petrochemical, chemical and power markets. Its main geographic focus has been in the North American market. Sulzer Chemtech has had a long relationship with this company due to a previous static-mixer license agreement with Koch-Glitsch. Therefore, the assets and capabilities of this mixer activity will be directly integrated into the Sulzer Chemtech US operations in Tulsa (Oklahoma, USA) and Sulzer Chemtech Winterthur (Switzerland). All 12 key employees will relocate from Wichita to Chemtech’s operations in Tulsa. The parties have agreed not to disclose price details.

Urs Fankhauser, president of the Sulzer Chemtech division: “This acquisition improves Sulzer Chemtech’s position in the US mixer market and strengthens the existing product portfolio. Sulzer Chemtech is very excited about this transaction.”
