The product range changes of the UK based Selwood group include the new generation of super silent units that use the principles of modular construction similar to the standard pumps with as many common components as possible. Furthermore two basic chassis variations for the entry level units are introduced.
Selwood, the only UK company that manufactures, sells and hires pumps, has launched a new comprehensive, compact range of pumps for 2003.
For some considerable time the engineering department of Selwood, based at its head office in Chandler's Ford, Hampshire, has been working on a series of new pump developments encompassing its core values of quality and reliability but also increasing the range. The initial focus was on the ever popular 4" and 6" Seltorques together with the 150SA and a new 150SA twin prime dewatering pump. However, other units are also being launched.
The company is now launching two basic chassis variations for the entry level units and these will form the standard site and skid range. They are powered by either Deutz 1011 series engines for EEC and North American markets or Detroit engines for other non EEC and developing countries.
For some time Selwood has lacked a true wellpoint dewatering unit but is now launching a dedicated dewatering pump. It is based on the 150SA but running at 1500rpm and has a modified suction tube. The unit is twin primed and will pull 100 cfm of vacuum and has a large water separation facility. This new package provides lower noise levels, reduced fuel consumption, significantly improved efficiency and better suction.
Selwood is also introducing a new generation of super silent units that use the principles of modular construction similar to the standard pumps with as many common components as possible. Canopied units are available for the new 4" and 6" Seltorques, the 150SA, 200SA and the new variant 150SA for wellpoint dewatering. Noise levels from the new canopied range are now as low as 62db(A).
Selwood is continuing with its development programme and later this year will launch improved versions of other pumps within its existing range such as super silenced fast tow and skid versions of the Selwood Storm pump plus enhancements to its 80C range.
Selwood's Managing Director Kevin Bright is confident that the new range of pumps are going to prove both popular and successful and commented, "We have worked hard over many months on this range and now feel that we have a full range that is tailored to market demands. We have extended the range and at the same time become more competitive and have improved delivery times without compromising the quality and reliability of our products. All of these pumps encompass Selprime, our unique self priming system utilising a water tolerant diaphragm pump that has none of the problems of oil vapour emissions associated with other priming systems. We are committed to achieving customer satisfaction and the new range of pumps will be built to customers' individual requirements from a standard base unit".
