Successfully supplying pumps to the Sugar Industry

Tuthill HD330 pump was selected for a sugar syrup / emulsion, due to its robust construction and dry-run capabilities.

A Sugar Industry customer has a difficult pumping need. Sugar syrup / emulsion is supplied to the pumps from a centrifuge, which gives an intermittent feed to the pump. The existing pumps had no dry-running capabilities, and required frequent and costly maintenance. The syrup is also an abrasive product, therefore the pump needed to be of a robust construction.

The customer tested a Tuthill HD330 pump, as well as a competitors pump. As a result of the trials, the HD 330 was selected, due to its robust construction and dry-run capabilities.
