Projects Include $52 Million Solar Agricultural Development and $10 Million
Rural Water and Power Utility Solar Program in Island Communities of Cebu

PENNINGTON, N.J., Jan 7 /PRNewswire/ -- In line with its rapid development
of mainstream solar power projects in the Philippines, WorldWater Corp.
(OTC Bulletin Board: WWAT) today announced the promotion of Brenda G. Bergman
to the new position of Project Manager of Philippine Operations.
Starting immediately, WorldWater Corp. Chairman and CEO Quentin T. Kelly
announced she will be posted to Manila to commence operations on the Company's
major projects using its proprietary solar technology. The projects include
the recently signed $52 Million agricultural development program and the
$10 Million rural utility program for communities in the island province of
Cebu, both projects starting this month.
First phase of the $52 Million program is a WorldWater engineering and
economic study, funded by the US Trade and Development Agency, designed to
create a basic groundwater map, establish appropriate irrigation technology
and measure the economic impact of the program. Following completion of the
study in June, the WorldWater solar equipment will be installed over a period
of two years, according to Mr. Kelly. This major agricultural development
project will have a sovereign guarantee by the Philippine Government and 100%
financing by PNC Bank of Philadelphia, backed by US Export-Import Bank, he
declared. The rural water utility programs will be funded by the communities
themselves with long-term loans from Philippine banks, he said.
WorldWater's powerful solar pumps can deliver more that 2000 gallons of
irrigation water per minute, Mr. Kelly said, adding that this capability is
some 10 times more powerful than other solar water pumps in the world.
Dr. Anand Rangarajan, WorldWater Corp. Executive Vice President, stated,
"Our activities are developing very quickly over there and we needed to add
American executives to our increasingly busy Philippine staff to coordinate
the multiplying business affairs between the parent corporation and our
subsidiary," he added. Ms. Bergman will report to John Herrman, WorldWater
Philippines' new President who left for Manila last week to guide Company
operations, he said.
Ms. Bergman is a former Fulbright Scholar who has worked on water related
programs in several southern African countries, particularly Zimbabwe, and for
WorldWater in the Philippines. She is a 1998 Summa Cum Laude graduate of
Boston College and is working on-line toward her Masters in Water Resource
Engineering from Loughborough University in England.
