Over the years, the company known around the world as “Varisco” has been registered under different corporate names, the most recent being “Varisco Pompe S.r.l.”. Now, from May 5th, 2003, the company is changing its corporate name to “Varisco S.p.A.”.

In January 2002, on its seventieth anniversary, Varisco Pompe was acquired by SOVEMA S.p.A., an Italian company belonging to an important European group. As a result, Varisco becomes the core of the new pump division which will include other specialist pump manufacturers, creating synergies to aim for an even stronger position on the market.

AxFlow Ltd. Great Britain has acquired Crawley-based distributor of fluid handling equipment The Pump Company Limited – effective January 4th. The acquisition will see The Pump Company continuing to operate under its brand.

Atlas Copco has acquired German Industrie Pumpen Vertriebs GmbH (IPV). The company is a distributor of industrial pumps for the Varisco brand.

Atlas Copco Portable Energy has expanded its offering for the dewatering market with the launch of over thirty new heavy-duty, high capacity pumps. This includes the addition of three high-flow models to its PAS range of centrifugal dry prime pumps. The new pumps are capable of accommodating flows of up to 1400 cubic metres per hour.
