The ABS Interim Report January – September 2002: Invoiced sales amounted to 239 MEUR (215), which adjusted for the effects of exchange rate movements is a rise of 11 percent.
Madrid-Barajas Airport is the fifth busiest European airfield today and the one with the highest increase in passenger traffic over the last years. To cope with this continous upward trend, the airport is now being extended. ABS pumps are used during the construction of new terminal buildings and runways.
ABS in China has delivered a number of wastewater pumps to the new proving ground at the Shanghai Volkswagen plant. China and Germany own this car-making joint venture equally. The Shanghai Volkswagen plant has an annual capacity of 300.000 cars and employs more than 10.000 people.
ABS in China has delivered wastewater pumps and a large number of mixers for a new wastewater plant in Nan jing, the old capital of China. The city of Nan jing is upgrading its wastewater system by building a new plant.
Arauco, one of the world‘s largest forestry companies, has placed an order of 300 ABS process pumps for a new pulp mill in Valdivia, Chile. The greenfield mill will have a production of 600,000 tons/year of bleached kraft market softwood and hardwood pulps made from eucalyptus and pine.
ABS will deliver pumps to one of Turkey’s major wastewater projects in
recent years, a treatment plant and sea outfall construction in Kadikoy,
Istanbul.
The Verder Group, a Dutch family-owned business specializing in the manufacture and distribution of pumps and laboratory equipment, has announced its acquisition of the Jabsco rotary lobe pump product line from Xylem.
Xylem recently announced that Ásafl ehf. has become an official distributor of its Jabsco and Rule branded marine pumps and equipment. Under the exclusive agreement, Xylem will supply Ásafl ehf. with its Jabsco and Rule product lines for distribution to customers in Iceland.
