|||||||||
Pump and valve purchases in 2012 by power plants, municipalities and industry will be $90 billion. These forecasts are extracted from the latest updates to the McIlvaine publications Pumps World Markets and Industrial Valves: World Markets. The biggest purchasers in the power industry will be investors in coal-fired power plants. Most of these power plants are being built in Asia. Combined cycle gas turbine construction will account for a relatively small portion of the power total. The nuclear industry represents an even smaller segment. A sizable portion of the investment in a new hydropower plant is for flow control but only a few large hydro plants will be built in 2012.
